Sophia Christine Dean

Sophia was born in 1951 in Chattanooga, Tennessee and lived much of her life in Zephyrhills, Florida. As a single mother, Sophia managed to earn her Associates of Science degree in Nursing at Greenville Technical College in 1990. She spent the remainder of her career working as a registered nurse in Post Coronary at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Sophia was a selfless individual who made many sacrifices to put the care and needs of those she loved first. Sophia loved good food, animals, going to the beach and above all else spending time with her family. She had a sweet smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her children: a daughter, Tiffany Mobley and her husband, Tim Mobley; and son, Robert Brooks and his wife, Amanda Brooks; her sisters: Jeanne Boteler and Teresa Sheriff; her brother: Michael Glenza; and grandchildren: Brittany Ladd, Sophia Brooks, Sarah Mobley, Ansley Mobley, Stella Grace Mobley and Maggie-Jane Mobley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-12:45pm.

The Mackey Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
