Born in Muenster, Texas on April 20, 1955, she was the daughter of James (deceased) and Joann Gray, sister of Terry Gray and Trent Gray, wife of D. Edward Anderson, mother of Samuel Gray Anderson and Christy Anderson (deceased), mother-in-law of Susan Springer Anderson, and grandmother of precious Theodor Anderson. By God’s grace and under His care, she was given the gift of faith in Jesus Christ for her salvation, and joins her daughter, Christy, in His presence in heaven.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
Teena was a loving, devoted, and faithful companion to her husband Ed for 38 years. Instead of pursuing a full time career as a nurse, she sacrificially gave of herself to care for her children, particularly for Christy’s special needs and severe medical problems. In her latter years she devoted her time and energy to the spiritual and physical needs of children around the world through the ministries of Compassion International and Samaritan’s Purse.
Teena was deeply grateful for her many brothers- and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews, all of whom were a rich blessing in her life.
Rather than holding a memorial service, Teena hopes that family and friends will gather together on a future date in celebration of the life they shared together. She requests no flowers and instead asks that donations be made to the following organizations:
Miracle Hill Ministries, P.O. Box 2546, Greenville, SC 29602 (designate Shepherd’s Gate)
Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28608 (designate Operation Christmas Child)
Compassion International, Colorado Springs, CO 80997
Dream Riders (therapeutic equine provider) 156 Sandy Hill Rd, Lexington, SC 29072
Teena found deep joy participating in the mission of each of these organizations, and in the people both near and far whom she met through them.
