Theodore Fields, 99, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on February 13, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born on March 5, 1926, in Avawam, Kentucky, to Cora Baker and Robert L. Fields.

Mr. Fields, better known as "Ted," was a barber who served the Oak Ridge community for many years. Later, he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Ted is survived by his wife, Bobbie Miller Fields; his son, Richard E. Fields, and his wife, Ginger Cunningham Fields, of Knoxville, Tennessee; and three daughters: Corajane Melton and her husband, Robert W. Melton, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Grace-Ann Tannehill and her husband, Bobby Tannehill, of Knoxville, Tennessee; and Mary Ellen Dover and her husband, James T. Dover, of Simpsonville, South Carolina. In addition, Ted is survived by a sister-in-law Uma Clark of Hixson, Tennessee.

Also left to cherish his memory are grandchildren: Benjamin Fields and his wife, Sarah, and their children, Eloise and Lena, and Amos Fields and his wife, Tosha, and their son Malcolm all of Knoxville, Tennessee; Kelly Ann Melton and her partner, Seth Cross, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; Teresa Dover and her husband, Matthew Cooper, of Taylors, South Carolina; and Julie Dover of Simpsonville, South Carolina. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by three brothers, Troy Fields, Arlie Fields, and Dwight Fields; four sisters, Holly Collins, Ruth Plock, Verda Fields, and Maxine Files; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Fields and Mildred Fields; four brothers-in-law, John Collins, Eugene Plock, Fred Files, and O.L. Clark; and two sons-in-law, Cameron Burgin and James H. Cannon.

A memorial service celebrating Ted's life will be held at a later date.

In memory of Ted, the family requests that memorials be made to a local food bank or charity of your choice.
