Terri was a native of Greenville, South Carolina, where she graduated from Parker High School in June 1966 and spent her life and career in the Upstate. She passed away following a long and courageous struggle with cancer, with her family lovingly by her side.
Terri devoted many years to the automotive repair industry, where her extensive knowledge, technical expertise, and hands-on experience made her a valued professional. Throughout her career, she contributed her skills and experience to several local businesses, including Mike Willimon’s Towing and Recovery, Fairway Auto Body Shop, and Jackie Mauldin’s Collision Repair and Towing. Her years in the industry reflected a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of her profession.
In 1973, Terri married Marcus “Buddy” McMakin, and together they welcomed their son, Marcus “Trey” McMakin, who remained an important part of her family story.
Terri is remembered for the lasting place she held in the hearts of her family, her determination and independence, her dedication to her work and her strength in facing life’s challenges.
Terri is survived by her son, Marcus “Trey” McMakin III; daughter-in-law, Susan Greene McMakin; granddaughter, Eleanor Ophelia McMakin; and grandson, Jacob Tyler McMakin.
