Thomas L. Reid Sr.

Tom was a longtime business man, commercial electrician for Eldeco Construction and a decorated Marine Corp veteran who served in the Vietnam War and received two purples hearts and five silver service stars.

Tom is survived by his son Thomas L. Reid Jr. of MA and his family, sister Katharine A. Desellier and brother Edmund K. Lutes Jr. of MA, and sister Cheryl A. Hogan with her husband Kenneth J. Hogan of Greer, SC and their son Kevin E. Hogan of Inman SC, all formerly of MA. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Sybil Reid, father John W. Reid of MS, mother Helen E. (Clark) Lutes of Greer, SC formerly of MA, stepfather Edmund K. Lutes Sr. of FL and formerly of MA, and brother John W. Reid of MA.

A visitation for Tom will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on behalf of Tom to Good News Baptist Church, 1592 SC-14, Greer, SC 29650.

A funeral will occur Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM Good News Baptist Church, 1592 SC-14, Greer, SC 29650 followed by the burial at 12:30 PM at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd. Simpsonville, SC 29681.
