

Tona was born in Union, South Carolina and was raised in Columbia. Tona was a graduate of Dreher High School, class of 1957, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy in 1961. Tona spent much of her time reading, giving to missions and causes she felt strongly about, spending time with family, and enjoyed playing Scrabble. She raised two children while a practicing Pharmacist, owning and running her own Drug Store with her husband. Tona enjoyed following her son around the country as he pursued his career, especially spending time at the beach.
She is survived by her husband Johnny Paradeses and son James Paradeses. She was predeceased by her daughter Anna Maria Paradeses, 15, and father Anthony Avgerinos, US Army, and mother Dorothy Fowler Brennan, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Tona is a member of St. George and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 697 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29303. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm in Columbia at Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29204.
