Viacheslav “Papa Slava” Mikhailovich Nikolaev, age 78, of Greer, South Carolina went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022. He was born March 31st, 1943 in Moscow, Russia to the late Mikhail Ivanovich Nikolaev and Lydia Yegorovna Kashina.
Slava was a medical doctor and was specialized in otolaryngology; he practiced medicine in Moscow for 40 years. Upon his retirement, he moved to Greer, SC to join his daughter and her family.
Predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Margarita “Rita” Nikolaeva, and his sister Liudmila Lipatova.
Papa Slava is survived by his daughter, Aleksandra “Sasha” Nikolaeva, his son in law, Ruben Stancel, and his three grandchildren, Sophia “Sophie” Stancel, Adrian Stancel, and Alexander “Alex” Stancel.
Visitation for Viacheslav Nikolaev will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday, January 8th 2022 at the Mackey at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel followed by a graveside service at 1:00 pm Woodlawn Memorial Park.
