Vick was the third son, of six, of the late Albert and Lucille McKinney of Greenville, South Carolina. He was a long time member of Taylors First Baptist Church. He was retired from a successful forty year career in the industrial sales and service industry. He was a proud member of the "Subway Alumni" for the University of Notre Dame, as well as being a member of the University of South Carolina Gamecock Club for more than forty years. Some of his favorite pastimes included cooking, home projects, losing a few golf balls if the weather permitted, and watching the ocean waves from the view of his condo at Surfside Beach where he spent much of his time later in life. He was also an inactive member of the Masons and Shriners.
He was predeceased in life by his loving wife of 52 years, Judy S. McKinney, as well as two of his five brothers, Jack McKinney and Darrell McKinney.
He is survived by his son, Wm. Dale McKinney (Melissa), and grandson, Logan M. B. McKinney; his daughter Elizabeth Leigh Sargent (Barry), her daughters, Rose Chappell and Victoria Hansen (Kevin), and great granddaughter Violette J. Hansen; his brothers, John McKinney, Joe McKinney, and Dannis McKinney; his former wife and late - in - life companion, Sibyl Elaine Padgett, and their daughter, Glenda McGarity Cooper (Gary); and, loving nieces, nephews, and other family members close to his heart too numerous to list at this time.
The service and proceedings noted above to be held in his memory will be casual in dress, simple in context, and brief in duration "per his wishes".
A funeral service for Vick will be held Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609.
In lieu of flowers, he would have prefered donations be made to a charitable institution or church of a person's choice.
