Ruby Viola Pond went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on October 10, 2018. She was predeceased by her loving husband Dr. James Albert Pond and her son James Wayne Pond and daughter in-law Marianne Pond. She was also predeceased by her brother, Bruce Corlew, and her sisters Mildred Milliken and Bernice Powers.
Mrs. Pond was born June 14, 1921, in Clarksville, Tennessee to Randle Hale and Ruby Neblett Corlew. She married Dr. Pond on October 5, 1940. Mrs. Pond faithfully served beside her husband for 59 years as he pastored churches in Nashville, Atlanta and Greenville, where he established the Bible Presbyterian Church in 1958. Her entire life was characterized by service to her Savior, to her children, and to her church family.
She is survived by one sister, Corrine Cipriano of Portland, Oregon; one son, Randy (Kitty) Pond of Kingston, Nova Scotia, and daughters Sandy (Norm) Krueger, of Dallas, Texas, Dianne (Eric) Halvorson of Camarillo, California, and Cathy (Mike) Miller of Greenville. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Mary Margaret Pond Rooze, Barb Pond Jackson, Sherri Pond Stubbs, Lori Pond, Col. Colten Pond, Dr. Joshua Pond, Kimberlea Krueger Bass, Kelly Krueger Lynch, Dana Halvorson Buhr, Angela Halvorson Howe, Tracey Miller, Jennifer Miller, David Miller and Jared Miller; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Even in our sadness, we find comfort that someone so dear to us
Has found fulness of joy in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the chapel of Mackey Funerals & Cremations at Century Drive, 311 Century Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
