Virginia L. Cocanower

"Ginny" lived her life loving and serving others, whether raising a family overseas on the mission field, in the workplace and church, or in her final years, in the community at Rolling Green. Her faith was strong, and it was the foundation of her joy, hope, and strength. Her care for others was rooted in her love for Jesus. She prayed for her family and others with diligence and passion. Her sweet smile, gentle and kind spirit, and ability to make others feel loved and special, won the hearts of those around her.

She is survived by her children, Barb Haron (Ken), James Cocanower (Gini), Lori Schoen (Steve), David Cocanower (Angie), and John Cocanower (April); 15 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren; and by her sister Lois Gerber.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremation at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Services will be held the following day, Friday, October 17, 2025, 10:00 am at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. A private burial will follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Rolling Green Village Chapel Project or Miracle Hill Ministries.
