

Born in Black Mountain, North Carolina, she was the daughter of William C. Allison and Margaret Daugherty Allison.
Mrs. Cureton taught elementary school in Walnut Cove, North Carolina. After her marriage, she was a homemaker and active in civic affairs in Greenville, SC and Anderson, SC. Mrs. Cureton was a long time member of Buncombe St. United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Friendship Class having previously been a member and pianist for the Morgan-Wesley class for many years.
Surviving are sons, Kenneth A. Cureton (Deborah) of Alexandria , Virginia, and Roy W. Cureton, Jr. of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are granddaughters Allison C. Outlaw (Michael) of North Augusta, SC; Heather C. Small of Lancaster, SC; and Shannon C. Busby (Jeffrey) of Taylors, SC and eight great-grandchilden.
She is also survived by her sister, Betty Joyner (Louis) of Southern Pines, NC as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by five brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:00pm at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, 200 Buncombe St., Greenville, SC 29601.
Burial will follow in Christ Churchyard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00pm – 1:00pm in the Orders Parlor of the church.
