

Wanda Lee McCauley of Greenville, formerly of Williamston and Piedmont, passed peacefully on March 13, 2016, with loving family and loving staff at her side at Brookdale at Pelham Rd., after a long and brave journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in Parker County, Texas, on May 23, 1929, to Eva and Lloyd Wright, she is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, D. B. McCauley.
Wanda was a sweet, loving, charming woman, who dearly loved her family and friends and caregivers. Wanda worked alongside her husband in their retail stores for over 30 years until their retirement.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Dan Rigby of Greenville, and her son, Mike McCauley of Greenville. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Alan Richard of Washington DC, Jason McCauley (Amanda), Jeremy McCauley (Lindsay), and Jamie Harrison (Josh), all of Piedmont, and by her 4 precious great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Briggs McCauley and Pierce and Edee Kate Harrison, and a 5th great-granddaughter, Avery, due soon. Also, she is survived by her brother, Dr. Bobby Wright (Pat) and her sister Sherry Orr, and brother-in-law, Gene Odom (Bill), former daughter-in-law Sherri McCauley and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life and during her long illness, Wanda never lost her sweet spirit and desire to please and thank those whom she loved and who cared for her.
The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers over these last years for their special care and love.
Visitation and funeral services will be Thursday, March 17, at Mackey Mortuary.
Receiving of friends will be at 12:30 PM, service will begin at 2 PM.
Private family interment will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
