

Warren was born November 25th, 1932, in New Haven Connecticut. He played three sports in High School at Gilbert School in Winsted, CT. He graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 1954 with a B.S. Degree. He played college and semi professional baseball before going into the AirForce through UConn’s ROTC program.
Warren was predeceased by his wife Betsy, but is survived by two sons, Warren III of Newport News, VA, and William (Mary Kate) of Simpsonville, SC., one stepdaughter, Laura Griffin of Greenville, SC., and two stepsons, David Scott (Sherri) of Pawleys Island, SC and Alan Scott (Ellen) of Gainesville, GA. In addition, he had six grandsons.
Warren was a pilot in the US AirForce and after 3 years of active duty, moved to South Carolina where he joined the 77th Troop Carrier Squadron as a pilot and instructor at Donaldson A.F.B in Greenville, SC to complete his reserve duties. After the base closed in 1963, he became the chief pilot for a private company until 1970, when he became the Director of Employee Relations. Warren took early retirement in 1986 and became a landlord actively managing his rental properties up to the time of his death.
Since 1961 Warren was a member of 4th Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, SC where he was an Elder, youth Sunday School Teacher & Basketball coach. He enjoyed playing golf with family and friends, and especially enjoyed traveling with his wife Betsy on vacations and trips to see his grandsons play sports.
A celebration memorial service will be held on December 9th, at 2:00 PM at 4th Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC. Following the service the family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the GHS Cancer Institute or 4th Presbyterian Church.
