William "Ron" Ronald Armstrong

Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm followed by his funeral at 2:00pm. Arrangements are by Mackey at Century Drive.

Ron was born in Beaufort, SC to Lonnie and Dennis Armstrong on December 7, 1963. He graduated high school from Mid Carolina High School where he played both football and basketball and ran track. He earned his Bachelor’s in Administrative Management from Clemson University in 1986 and returned to earn his Masters in Public Accounting in 1988. The following year, he married Ann Boatwright Armstrong on June 10, 1989 in Kingstree, SC. Ron worked at Guardian and Ernst & Young among other firms before purchasing his own accounting firm, William R Armstrong CPA in 2006, which he ran until his retirement in 2022. Ron was an avid Clemson fan and loved spending his free time cheering on the Tigers.

Ron is preceded in death by his wife, his father, and his father-in-law, Dwight Boatwright.

Ron is survived by his two daughters Katherine Armstrong and Abigail Motsinger (Clayton Motsinger); mother; brother Russell Armstrong (Michelle Armstrong), sisters Amanda Schramka (Peter Schramka) and Melinda Armstrong; mother-in-law Carole Huffman; and brother-in-law Jim Boatwright (Nichole Boatwright).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Dementia Society of America, Alzheimer’s Association, or your charity of choice. The family of Ron wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Lowcountry Community Hospice House.

A visitation for William will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 1:00 AM to 1:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.

A committal service will occur Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
