William Grassano

Greenville – William V. “Bill” Grassano Sr., 95, of Greenville, SC died Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Benedetto and Camilia Grassano.

Bill attended New York and Furman University and was employed as a merchandise manager with Meyers Arnold and Alexanders. He later founded his own business, B&G Sales and was self-employed as a manufacturer’s representative until retirement. He was a member of Praise Cathedral in Greer.

Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, known to his grandchildren as Papa. He loved nothing more than to be with his family and always had a surprise for the grandchildren when he saw them. He was immensely proud of everyone’s accomplishments and exemplified unconditional love. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends.

Bill is survived by one son, Jamie Grassano, his wife Leanne, a granddaughter Jessica Grassano, a grandson Mac Grassano, and one sister, Claire Noel of Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Grassano and son William “Billy” Grassano, Jr.

A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive Greenville, SC 29609 in the Remembrance Chapel. A committal service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

A visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service in the Remembrance Chapel.
