

William was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor and dedication throughout his life.
A collector of antique and muscle cars, William found great joy in preserving classic automobiles and sharing that passion with others. He was also an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer them on.
William dedicated more than 25 years of service to Rockwell Automation, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and commitment.
He especially loved traveling to the mountains to enjoy the beauty of freshly fallen snow. He was also a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his son, S. Christopher Martin; his daughter, Judith Martin Field; his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Nifong and Emily Brook Peay; and his great-grandson, Mark Alexander Nifong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry Martin, Sr. and Julia Smith Martin.
Service for William will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church Greenville, 200 W Washington St, Greenville, SC 29601 in Harper Chapel. Visitation begins at 11:00 am followed by the funeral at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park following the service.
