William "Bill" L. Peake Jr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Papa Bill, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He will be remembered for his unwavering sense of humor, his deep love for golf, and his passion for building and creating. Whether it was working in the yard, enjoying the outdoors, or diving into a new project, he found joy in staying active and loving on his dogs, Tigger and Toby. His legacy lives on through the stories he told, the humor he brought to every moment, and the many lives he touched with his kindness. A man of deep faith and a devoted follower of Jesus, he will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

Bill is survived by his wife, L. Gale Peake (nee Miller); children, Casey Peake Wright and son Jacob Wright, and Lauren Peake; bonus children, Steven Edwards (wife Rhonda and sons Matthew and Brady), Renae Morgan (husband, Jeff and daughters Macey and Haley), Dawn Moree (husband Chris and sons Peyton and Collin), and Sonya Donnahoo (daughters Morgan and Reagan); as well as many cousins and family members from Chilhowie, Virginia.

He was predeceased by his parents, William L. Peake, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Peake and brother, Robert “Bobby” Peake.

A visitation for Bill will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Following the visitation will be a graveside at 3:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Blvd, Greenville, SC 29609.
