Born on December 14, 1946 in Piedmont South Carolina, he was the son of the late Robert Harold White and Margret Fennell Chapman. William graduated from the Citadel with a business degree and was known for being a hard worker during his career in construction. He was also a 1st lieutenant and captain in the Army. Known fondly as “Don”, William was an immensely talented and smart man, but above all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Griggs White, daughter Amy Elizabeth White Hyde, and his brother Robert “Bob” Gerald white.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer White Williams, grand children Victoria Williams (Miguel), Lauren Reece (Austin), Aiden Morgan, Olivia Morgan, Parker Morgan, and Peyton Moon. He had three great grandchildren.
A visitation for William will be held Thursday, July 3rd, 2025 at 11am at Mackey Funeral and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park 1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609, Followed by a service at 1pm.
