

October 3, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Dolores Dressel Wood for 72 years. He was born the first time on November 3, 1924, in Columbus, Ohio and the second time on August 5, 1964.
Bill was the father of four devoted children, Papa/Gramps to 11 grandchildren and to 11 great-grandchildren.
While still in high school, he enlisted in the Navy as a baker on a troop transport ship. His fleet participated in five invasions in the War in the Pacific, and he completed his service as a First-Class Petty Officer. He loved America, loved his Navy experience, and was a true American patriot his entire life.
Bill founded Tremont Goodie Shop in 1958 (Columbus, Ohio) then sold it to move to Greenville where he become the head baker at the Bob Jones University Dining Common in 1967, a position he served in for more than 25 years.
Bill is still remembered for his faithful service, great sense of humor, and encouraging ministry as a mentor to the young men who worked with him.
He and Dolores were charter members at Heritage Bible Church, where he actively supported missions and other church projects. Bill loved gardening, baking, and traveling with his wife.
A private family funeral service will be held in early March.
