Dr. Xianghe Wang

It is with profound sadness that we announce that our beloved Dr. Xianghe Wang departed this life at 4:10 PM EDT on July 21, 2026, in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving family.

Dr. Wang was born on August 10, 1946,in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. Throughout her life, she was self-reliant and tirelessly devoted to learning, excelling academically from a young age. In the sweltering summer of 1964, on the strength of her exceptionally solid academic foundation and outstanding achievements, she was granted special admission to Nanjing Medical College (now Nanjing Medical University), even though she had missed the physics exam.

Upon graduation in 1970, Dr. Wang completed her residency training at a regional hospital. Responding to the call of her generation, she went on to serve in rural community hospitals. On May 1, 1972, she wed her devoted husband, Peide Zhou, beginning a beautiful journey of shared lives through every turn of fortune. Amidst frequent relocations with her husband, she remained deeply committed to her calling as a pediatrician, serving at both factory clinics and university hospitals. Throughout her distinguished career, she published numerous scholarly papers in medical journals, dedicating her professional life to the care and well-being of children.

In 2000, her husband accepted an opportunity with an American company, and Dr. Wang joined him in the United States in 2002. Embracing this new chapter, she lived with joy, vitality, and a bright spirit. She was an avid traveler and photography enthusiast. Together over 54 wonderful years, she and her husband explored the world, traveling from Miami to Alaska, and from New York to San Francisco. They also embarked on five memorable European journeys, including several long-distance road trips. In her leisure time, she found delight in cooking, gardening, and nurturing vibrant flowers.

Dr. Wang will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, high medical ethics, passion for nature, unwavering devotion to her family, and warm, sincere kindness to her friends. Her departure leaves us without a wonderful wife, devoted mother, exceptional physician, and dear friend. Her loss brings us profound sorrow, and her memory will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service to celebrate Dr. Xianghe Wang's life will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
