Zellan Strickland Gardner, 93, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, August 31, 2026. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Max, her darling parents, and many dear family and friends.
She was the daughter of the late Roy M. and Ethel Robbins Strickland, and is survived by her daughter Dale, her son Phil (Teresa), step-granddaughter Ashlynn (Dustin) Self and her “adopted” daughter, Dr. Julie Kahler.
Zellan was a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, and a former member of Edwards Road Baptist Church.
To those privileged to love her, she was pure joy and light, known for her generosity, her infectious laugh, and a smile that could light up an entire room. She was an extraordinary mother, a devoted wife, and a loyal friend. She loved sharing Jesus more than anything else in life. Words cannot describe how deeply she will be missed, but her sweet spirit will live on in our hearts. We love you, Mother.
Services for Zellan will be held at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Mackey. Committal will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
