Ann Seyffer Loh, 80, loving mother, great friend and longtime resident of Old Greenwich, CT passed away on March 14, 2013. She was born on March 19, 1932 in Bronx, NY and raised in Larchmont, NY by her late parents Eric J. and Lillian G. Seyffer. Ann graduated from Mamaroneck High School and attended Syracuse University before her marriage to Richard Loh on November 24, 1951. Together they raised four sons and learned, over time, with the help of Dewars and Canadian Club, to laugh about the experience. An Old Greenwich resident since 1956, she worked as a wallpaper specialist at the Sterling Watts/Feinsod hardware store and, more recently, volunteered her time at The Rummage Room in Old Greenwich. Ann was truly a lady and a great wife, Mom and grandmother. She loved reading books and the New York Times, talking with family and friends, following the Yankees and tending to her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed the beach, a day on the water and traveling…especially to her annual get together with dear high school friends at Lake George and other places.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard, and a sister, Martha S. Terzi. She is survived by four sons and their wives – Richard C. (Kate), Jeffrey T. (Susanna), Andrew J. (Claudine), and Kevin J. (Carol) – eight grandchildren – Eric, Stacey, Mark, Jason, Joshua, Caitlin, Meagan, and Paige - her old neighbor and confidant Vivian Bodenheimer – and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass in celebration of Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, April 6th at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside, CT at 12:30pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Greenwich Point or the Friends of Cos Cob Library.
The Loh family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staffs affiliated with Greenwich Hospital, Stamford Hospital and the rehab unit at Edgehill for their help in caring for Grammy during her visits over the past few months.
