Barbara Gaulocher

Barbara F. Gaulocher of Riverside, CT died peacefully Sunday December 11, 2011 at age 78. Barbara died surrounded by her three children at her home at Edgehill, in Stamford, CT. She grew up in Darien, CT, the daughter of Beardsley and Marion Foster. She attended Darien HS and then went on to Smith College, graduating in 1955 cum laude. She had many interests that she pursued with great passion, such as: reading, gardening and helping others achieve opportunities for higher education. She worked with the PTA’s of Riverside School, Eastern Middle School and Greenwich High School. Many hours were spent working with the GHS Student Loan Fund, Smith College fund raising efforts and League of Women Voters and NOW. As a long-standing member of Innis Arden Golf Club, she was very active with the tennis and paddle tennis programs. Bridge, travelling and the theater were activities that were very special to her. Barbara is survived by her three children: Scott and Ann Gaulocher of Old Greenwich, and their sons Todd and Mark, Gregg Gaulocher of Brooklyn, NY and Port St. Lucie, FL and Adele Gaulocher of North Andover, MA and her husband Mark Depolito, and their son Luke and daughter Lucy. Her loving husband, Todd, who died in 1980, preceded her in death. The funeral is scheduled for December 17, 2011 at 10:30am at First Congregational Church of Old Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Ave. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Perrot Library 90 Sound Beach Ave. Old Greenwich, CT 06870-1414.
