Beverly was born in Rye, New York, to Prescott Comstock Wilson and Lois Maude Beverage Wilson. She grew up alongside her identical twin sister, Lois Loudon Wilson, and her younger sister, Pamela Land Wilson, both of whom predeceased her.
For many years, Beverly was an active and engaged member of the Greenwich community, generously giving her time and energy to organizations including the Junior League of Greenwich and Women Together. Her involvement reflected a deep commitment to the community she called home for so much of her life.
One of Beverly’s particular passions was flowers and floral design. She joined the Green Fingers Garden Club in 1970, beginning an association that would span more than five decades. With a distinctive artistic eye and an extraordinary gift for creating beauty on an intimate scale, she became especially known for her singular small-niche flower arrangements. Her work earned numerous awards over the years, including the Garden Club of America’s coveted Fenwick Award. Her creativity, attention to detail, and appreciation for beauty were qualities she brought not only to her floral designs, but also to her life.
Beverly shared 63 years of marriage with her beloved husband, John Wright Watling III. Their long life together was one of enduring partnership and devotion. John predeceased Beverly by just six months, bringing to a close a marriage that had encompassed more than six decades of shared family life, memories, and experiences.
Beverly is survived by her two children, Jennifer Wright Watling of Greenwich, Connecticut, and Jonathan Prescott Watling of Yarmouth, Maine.
Beverly will be remembered for the life she created, the beauty she cultivated, her dedication to her community, and the many years she shared with those she loved. Her long and full life leaves behind a legacy of family, friendship, creativity, and grace, and she will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church in Greenwich on Saturday September 19th, 2026 at 11AM. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Round Hill Club.
