I am so sad. Friends and I drove long distances for many years to attend the AMC travel presentations that Dave organized (for myself, it was at least 70 miles one-way, so I didn't go as often as I would have liked). Dave was always so kind, with humor and warmth. I was actually going to do a presentation, too, but things were cancelled due to Covid, alas. What a dear man. His own photos were wonderful. He is truly missed.

Dear Wilma and family,

I got to know David as a friend when he helped me navigate my abrupt ascension to the chairmanship of the Connecticut AMC in 2012. I think I last saw him at a group AMC event last year. I will miss his smile and good cheer at our various gatherings. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you all.

Dear Wilma,
Sally and I send our condolences. We feel fortunate to have counted David as a friend. He was incredibly kind, always willing to participate in photography projects. Whenever one of David’s photographs won a club competition, we could sit back and enjoy his vivid stories behind the photograph. He brought them to life. We loved being his guest at one of his his presentations to the AMC, but even more, we loved simply spending time together. Mike

On behalf of the Stamford Photography Club, let me express our condolences at your loss.
David was a member of SPC since 2015 and was a valued member of the SPC Executive Committee. He was a doer and would always volunteer when help was needed. He might say that he didn’t know anything about the issue but would soon be leading the charge. He led a number of photoshoots and was instrumental in helping Rosemarie set up our Facebook photo sharing page. It was David who volunteered to run our Just For Fun competitions as the Covid crises overtook our lives.
He loved travel and nature photography and frequently presented photo essays to the Appalachian Mountain Club and other local not-for-profit organizations.
David was a wonderful man, always a gentleman and our friend. We will miss him.

He was a very talented photographer and a valued member of the Stamford Photography Club. He was a fun person to work with on club projects whether it be planning a photo shoot, sorting through administrative details or critiquing photographs. He will be greatly missed.
