Diane V Bistany

She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, until moving to Greenwich, Connecticut, in the late 1970s.

She graduated from the first graduating class of Charlotte Catholic High School and later attended Sacred Heart College, where she graduated summa cum laude. She was a dedicated professional who spent several years working at Charlotte Rehabilitation Hospital. She was recognized for her exceptional talents and expertise in chronic disabilities and rehabilitation.

She had a distinguished career with General Reinsurance Corporation, ultimately serving as Vice President of Disability Services before retiring in the early 2000’s. Her knowledge and passion for the field took her around the world. She traveled extensively and was a respected and sought-after speaker on chronic disability and rehabilitation programs.

While Diane achieved much throughout her professional life, her greatest joy was her family. She loved her family deeply and treasured her nieces and nephews, whom she treated as if they were her own children. She was a loving, caring, and devoted presence in their lives. The special bond she shared with them will remain a cherished part of their lives.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elias and Mateel Bistany. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Bistany and wife Roberta Bistany, along with her nieces and nephew, Cindy Bistany Rasmussen (Jim), Christina Bistany Robinson (Joe), Caren Bistany Kissinger (Bo), Joseph Bistany Jr (Tracie). Her great nieces, Danielle, Natalie, & Kate. Great nephew, Elias, and great grandnephew, Beckham. She loved them each dearly. She was also preceded in death by her fiancé Richard Hebert.

She will be remembered not only for her remarkable accomplishments and contributions to the field of rehabilitation, but, most importantly, for her generous heart, her love of family, and the lasting impact she had on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
