

Dieter was born in Trossingen, Germany to Johannes Hauser and Emma Pfund on March 27, 1940. He married Rosemarie Bogart on May 15, 1967 in Greenwich, Connecticut. He began an apprenticeship at 14 to become a chef. He went on for 25 years working at prestigious hotels in Germany, France, Sweden, South Africa, then to the USA, Shelter Island, New York on July 1, 1964, and finally to a French restaurant called the Gaslight in Riverside, Connecticut. He later became a real estate entrepreneur for the next 25 years. He enjoyed 20 years of retirement being a snow bird from Connecticut to Florida. He loved being a father to the family, a great Dad and a happy Grandpa. His favorite hobby was a horse named Blunder, driving around on the buggy in town and riding in the park. He enjoyed cruising the 7 seas, the national parks, camping, dining out, and cooking for friends and family. One of his happiest moments was becoming an American citizen. He lived the American dream calling this the land of milk and honey.
Dieter is preceded in death by his wife Rosemarie Hauser, who passed September 17, 2015.
He is survived by his lady friend Lucille Aubel, his son Michael Hauser and grandchildren Kailer and Easton, his daughter Jennifer Battye and grandchildren Cormac, Teresa, George and Henry.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Friday June 21,2024 at Leo P. Gallagher located at 31 Arch Street in Greenwich with Pastor Scamman of St. Paul’s of Byram officiating.
