

Edson A. Farqui, 59, of Riverside, CT, passed away Monday morning at Greenwich Hospital. Born in Alagoinhas and raised in Santos, Brazil, Edson was a dedicated family man, a loving husband, an accomplished professional and pianist, and a loyal friend. Edson attended the University of Sao Paulo, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Engineering as well as a Masters degree in Music. He spent his career of over thirty years working for Philips Electronics, having lived and worked in Brazil, the Netherlands, California, and New York. As a professional, he always saw the best in people, continuously motivating them, and holding his fellow coworkers to very high standards. Edson would frequently attend concerts at Carnegie Hall, and instilled his passion of classical music in his family and friends. Above all, his true love was his family. He was a provider, a counselor, and a role-model to his wife and children. His legacy will certainly live on in their hearts. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of thirty-three years, Ana Cristina; daughter, Christiane; son, Paulo; brother, Evaldo; sister, Edna; and 5 nieces and nephews. A mass will be held in his memory at St. Michael's Church in Greenwich, CT, on Saturday, 12/11/2010, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Order of Malta.
