Elaine G. O’Neill, a lifelong Greenwich resident, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Golden Hill Health Care center in Milford, CT. She was 85. Born March 9, 1926 in Greenwich, CT she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Martin Gibson.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Owen R. O'Neill and her sister Ann Gibson DeWitt and her brother Joseph A. Gibson Jr. She is survived by her son, Owen R. O'Neill Jr. and his wife Shirley Matthews, her daughter Patricia O'Neill O'Neil and her partner William Chamberlain, her grandson Jonathan O'Neil, and her grandson James O'Neil Jr. and his wife Katherine and two great grandsons, Brady and Dylan. She is also survived by her sister Katherine Gibson Schneider and her sister Alice Gibson Mascaro and her husband Allan Mascaro.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10AM on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry Street Greenwich, CT. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich. Condolence may be offered at www.leopgallaghergreenwich.com
