Elizabeth B Russell

Elizabeth Bynum Moran Russell died August 2, 2011. Born in Brooklyn on January 13, 1924, she graduated from Trinity College (D.C.) in 1945. She was a long time resident of Darien, New Canaan and Stamford. She is survived by her children Cathleen Moran Vermylen (Peter), Peter McElroy Moran (Heide), Barbara Alice Moran, David Edmond Moran (Fanny) and James Thomas Moran (Adie), 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and her sisters, Elbee Farricker and Fran Flynn. She was predeceased by her husband Malcolm Russell in 1991.

She loved tennis, paddle tennis, golf, bridge and mah jongg. She was a dedicated volunteer for The Children’s Aid Society.

Arrangements

Funeral arrangements are being made by Leo P. Gallagher & Son, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT. The family is receiving visitors there on Thursday August 4 from 5pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 5 at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Mary Fund, c/o Elbee Farricker, 122 Palmers Hill Rd. #1316, Stamford CT 06902 in support of hospice care in Fairfield County, or to the Richard Rosenthal Hospice Residence, 100 Shelburne Road, Stamford, CT 06902.
