
Elvira Boskello – age 96, a longtime resident of Greenwich passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2011. Elvira was born in New Rochelle, NY on September 25, 1914, the daughter of the late Frank and Fanny Passarelli. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William Boskello, a brother Sal Passarelli, two sisters, Mary Creola and Julie Evaristo; and son-in-law, Gregory Doppke.
She is survived by a son John F. Boskello and his wife Kathryn McArdle Boskello, of Milford; a daughter Mary Doppke of Greenwich; three sisters, Carmela Sileo, Rose Belluscio, and Francie Rich; three grandchildren, Kelly Doppke of Danbury, Douglas Boskello, and Bridget McCarthy of Sarasota, FL; and five great-granddaughters.
Elvira will be remembered for her love of family, friendly disposition, love of cooking, hospitality, and her desire to help others.
Family and friends may call at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street in Greenwich on Wednesday August 24, 2011 from 3-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Elvira’s life will be held on Thursday August 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, Greenwich, CT. Burial will be held privately.
