Frances Fagella

Frances Fagella, born Vincenzina Francesca Colella, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Popoli, Italy, in 1927 to Bonifacio and Teresa Colella and immigrated with her mother and sisters, Clara and Bianca, to America at the age of eight, joining her father and beginning a new life in Upper Manhattan.

Frances later lived in the Bronx and eventually settled in Yonkers, New York, where she and her beloved husband, Anthony Fagella Sr., raised their three sons, Robert, Raymond, and Anthony. Anthony Sr. predeceased her in 1984.

Frances devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her community. She worked for many years at Lord & Taylor in Eastchester, New York, and was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help family, friends, and neighbors.

Frances found joy in life's simple blessings - family gatherings, holidays, music, faith, and time spent with those she loved. She was especially proud of the family she and Anthony created and cherished every opportunity to celebrate birthdays, Christmases, weddings, and milestones together.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Fagella, Raymond Fagella, and Anthony Fagella Jr., and by her beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Gregory, Matthew, Justin, and Brian, who brought her immeasurable happiness throughout her life.

In a journal she wrote for her grandchildren, Frances reflected on the blessings of her life and wrote, "I'm grateful I was lucky enough to see my children and grandchildren grow in my lifetime, and I hope they will remember me and how very much I loved them." She ended with two simple words that perfectly captured her spirit: "Lucky me."

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT 06830.

A service will immediately follow starting at 11:45 AM.

Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
