Hazel Jean Stevenson, age 93, a long time Greenwich resident passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017 following several months of declining health. Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Canada to Samuel Ernest Beaton and Hazel Jean Houston, she grew up on Prince Edward Island before moving permanently to New York at age 21. Hazel was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Roland Chester Stevenson as well as her five siblings, Alma Schultz, Helen Beesley, Evelyn Beaton, Eunice Searles, and John Beaton. A devoted wife, mother and aunt; Mrs. Stevenson is survived by her beloved son Roland E. Stevenson and daughter in-law Celina Castillo Stevenson of Norwalk, Connecticut. Hazel is also survived by many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. A major hallmark of Mrs. Stevenson’s life was her active involvement with her church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 11am at the Parkway Assembly of God, 260 New Canaan Ave, Norwalk.
