

Helen Brown, 94, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, in her hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut. Born on June 6, 1931, also in Greenwich, Helen spent her entire life rooted in the community she loved and served so faithfully.
A woman of deep faith and unwavering dedication, Helen was a devoted Baptist and served as a deaconess at First Baptist Church in Greenwich. Her commitment to her church and community was evident throughout her life. Even into her late eighties, she remained active in service—up until the COVID-19 pandemic, at age 89, she shopped for the elderly and homebound through Jewish Family Services of Greenwich. Her compassion and generosity touched many lives.
Helen spent most of her adult life working for numerous families in Greenwich. Through these roles, she became a trusted presence in many households and formed lasting bonds that extended beyond professional boundaries.
To her family and those who knew her best, Helen was lovingly known as “Mema.” She found immense joy in being surrounded by her loved ones. Whether cheering on a basketball game or tackling a crossword puzzle with determination, Helen’s warmth and spirit were ever-present.
She is survived by her children: son Paul Fisher Sr.; daughters Estelle Hayes, Donna Brown, and Diane Brown. She also leaves behind her brother Frank Mohamed and his wife Janice. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Daryl Fisher (Miladys), Scott Nichols, David Fisher, Roni Sanchez (Anthony), Douglas Allan (Leanne), David Allan (Regina), and Beverly Foster; special granddaughter, Melissa Brooks, as well as through her great-grandchildren: Grayson and Sylvan Fisher; Jessica Fisher; Shannel and Tayshaun Nichols; Laila and Brooklynn Sanchez; David Jr., Alexa, Halle Allan; Yumi Allan; Jada and Stephen Nunez, and Noah Brooks.
Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband David Brown; parents Mervin and John Mohamed; sister, Joan (Bebe) Ramos, daughters Linda Brown and Charlene Abdal; grandson, Paul Fisher, Jr. and grandson Zachary Brooks.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church in Greenwich, Connecticut on August 20, 2025, with viewing beginning at 10:00 and service will follow directly.
Helen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, deaconess, neighbor, and cherished Mema. May her legacy of love and service continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
