

Maxcene Bernard Moye, age 95, of Greenwich (formerly of Harwich Port, MA) died peacefully at Greenwich Hospital on December 9, 2011. She had been a resident of The Nathaniel Witherell since October, 2010.
Born and raised in Goltry, Oklahoma, she was a graduate of Phillips University with a degree in music theory. She was a retired music teacher in the Framingham, MA public school system; a former president of The Florence Crittendon League; and an active supporter of The Shriners Burns Institute in Boston and many additional Masonic charities. She was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Harwich Port and was an avid golfer, gardener and Scrabble player. She was an accomplished musician and artist and was beloved for her warmth and her generosity of spirit.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Morgan Ostapkowicz and her husband Marek of Carlsruhe, Australia and Nicole Witt of Riverside, CT; 3 grandchildren, Tika Morgan of San Francisco, Rachael Witt Organek and her husband Paul of Suffield, CT; Noah Witt and his wife Tammy of Plainfield, CT and a great grandson, Ariel Marshall Witt, born November 21, 2011 as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband Hubert Nicholas Bernard, Jr; her second husband Harold J. Moye and her two sisters, Roberta Whisler and Elda Hardiman, both of California.
All arrangements will be private although a memorial service at Nathaniel Witherell will be planned for a future date.
Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Nathaniel Witherell for the loving care she received during the last 14 months.
