GALLAGHER--Hugh Robert, 92, of Armonk, NY, died peacefully at home on 30 September 2018, after his last cigar. Born in Brooklyn on 22 February 1926 to Charles & Ruth Roberts Gallagher, a decorated WWII combat veteran, he flew C-47 medi-evac missions in the Pacific Theater. A world traveler, he worked in China with Flying Tiger veterans, then joined American Express, where he successively led the Cruise Division, created the Amex Global Representative Network, led the Travel Division in Asia, Africa, & Pacific, and opened the China market, retiring in 1993 after 41 years. He leaves behind Trudi, his wife of 58 years, his son Lt Col Keith & Debbie Gallagher, and grandchildren Jessica and Matthew of Scottsdale, his son-in-law Mark Carlebach of Tampa, and was predeceased by his daughter Lacey Gallagher of Manhattan and his brother, L.
