It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jaclyn Elizabeth Sorese on March 26, 2019 at the age of 41. Jaclyn is the daughter of Denise Sorese and the late Vincent Sorese of Greenwich, CT. She is survived by her mother, Denise, and her sister, Lauren Robbins, of Fairfield, CT. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Tim Robbins; nephew Colin Robbins; and niece, Maeve Robbins, all of Fairfield, CT. In addition, Jaclyn is survived by her grandmother, Elizabeth Sorese, of Ossining, NY. Jaclyn was born May 20, 1977 in Greenwich, CT. She attended Greenwich Public Schools and graduated from Greenwich High in 1995. She went on to Duke University where she graduated cum laude with a degree in political science in 1999. After college, she worked at John Hancock in Boston, MA and GE Capital in Stamford, CT as a financial analyst. She also worked for Vab Media as Director of Financial Planning and Business Compliance Lead. Jaclyn enjoyed doing calligraphy, puzzles, photography, watching Duke basketball, listening to her favorite bands, going to the beach, and most of all spending time with her niece and nephew. Jaclyn’s beautiful smile, witty sense of humor, and kind heart are just a few of the things she will be remembered for. Friends and family can pay their respects at the Celebration of Life service on Saturday, April 6 at 12:00 p.m. at Penfield Pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road, Fairfield, Connecticut.

There really isn't enough space to shed light on how much Jaclyn illuminated my life. I have vivid memories of blaring music in her car, wildly cheering college basketball, time with her family, trips to Long Beach Island and the U.S. Open, and (of course) our college years at Duke and Davidson. She enhanced our lives with humor, intelligence, and insight, as well as kindness of heart, generosity of spirit, and sweetness of smile. Perhaps her largest contribution is bonding our two families as lifelong friends. She is missed dearly, but always remembered and loved.

Jaclyn moved in next door with her parents when I was in junior high, and I started babysitting for her soon thereafter, until I left for college. As we “grew up” together Jaclyn always brought energy to the room, especially through her persistent curiosity. Her love of drama, and being a “big sister” to Lauren were two of her proudest themes as a child, and it was a pleasure to be in her realm.

Later on when both she and I were living back in the neighborhood, we would have chats out on the street (both in bright pink and flip flops), talk about our lives and just “chill”, sometimes discussing sports like her love of Duke and Agassi, over my love of UCONN and Murray. Jaclyn cared deeply and was always willing to give to others. Her kindness as a neighbor and her generosity as a friend will be greatly missed. One day we heard a knock at our door, and Jaclyn appeared with a boatload (well-A LOT) of crafting supplies for my daughter, then about 8. Lexie loved them! Jaclyn loved to bring light into our lives, and love to those she cherished. We miss her dearly. XO Jane & Lexie

I was seventeen when Jaclyn was born. I was so proud to be her Godfather. I looked forward to every visit of Vinny and Denise to Rocky Point because my Godchild was coming along.

During the Monday Service Denise you referenced the Don Mclean song Vincent, I looked up the lyrics and they could not be more appropriate for both Vinny and Jaclyn.
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant
For one as beautiful as you

Jaclyn was such a gift to all of us and it is sad that you were taken away from us so young.
I will do my best to be a kinder person to everyone so I can be more like Jaclyn.

So so many memories, wouldn't even know where to begin, sharing our obsessive love for NKOTB since we were kids and the ongoing jokes, her quick witted humor, cruising around at night(stalking houses, speeding down frightening bridges lol) and much love for everyone in her life and of course that smile and laugh will be etched in my brain forever. We will all miss her so so much and she will forever be in our hearts. We love you Jaclyn❤

Our love for calligraphy was what brought the two of us together. I will miss seeing her every week and laughing over memories of high school. Even though we never knew each other back then, it seemed like we had known each other for much longer. Jaclyn was so smart and so witty. I will miss our time together.

What I remember the most about Jaclyn was her smile that lit up the room and her love of legos. She would spend hours putting them together then leave them on display in her room. When we came to visit, Lauren and Jaclyn would perform skits for us. They were so creative. I know she is gone from our sight but never from our hearts. I am so sorry for your loss Denise, Lauren and family. My love and prayers are with you guys.

Very sorry to hear of Jaclyn's passing. We were a good team many years back working the gate at Tod's Point. She was a lot of fun.
