

Jane Frances DeBona, 90, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022, in Greenwich Connecticut. She was the widow of Alfred DeBona who pre-deceased her in 1985. Before that they shared 34 years of marriage and raised four boys together.
A lifelong resident of Greenwich, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Frank E. Neilsen and Jennie (Ferraro) Neilsen. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Neilsen.
She graduated from Greenwich High School and then began working in retail sales in Greenwich. Several years later she married Alfred. Once her sons were in school, she returned to work in retail sales in Greenwich until she retired.
She was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Greenwich and enjoyed travelling, cooking, and having her family gather at her home for holidays. She was a kind and caring person who was always willing to help those in need. She was fiercely independent, and prior to her passing, led an incredibly active life that included traveling around the country to visit her many family members. She also loved shopping and going out to restaurants with her best friend.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert (Janet), James (Debbie), Gary (Teri) and David (JinMing); eight grandchildren, Kathleen Gelineau (Steve), Margaret, Kyle, Matthew, and Ryan DeBona, Kristen Bentley (George), Meggie and Hannah DeBona; and four great grandchildren, Jake and Hadleigh Gelineau, and George and Rose Bentley.
A mass of Christian burial will take place at St, Mary’s Church in Greenwich on Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery on North Street in Greenwich.
