Johann Schmidt died peacefully on February 6 at River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury, CT. He was born in Bakonyjako (Jaka), Hungary and immigrated to the United States. He is predeceased by his wife Theresa of 54 years and son John. He leaves behind his brother Joe and his wife Anna, and his oldest son Manfred and his wife Betty, and his grandson Scott. He was a member of the New York City District Council of Carpenters Union and worked on many projects in New York City including the World Trade Center and Radio City Music Hall. Visitation will take place from 2-6 PM on Sunday at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral home at 31 Arch St., Greenwich, CT . Funeral Service will follow on Monday at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by a burial at St. Marys Cemetary, North St., Greenwich, CT.
