LCpl. Joseph R. Schiano age 23, passed away suddenly on March 20, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Debra Schiano, brother Tyler and his sister Nicole Schiano. He graduated Greenwich High School in 2005 and attended Drexel University for 1 year prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. During his 4 years in the Marines he deployed two times to Afghanistan. He will always be our hero! In addition to his mother and siblings he is survived by his grandmother Elizabeth Chute Gerardi, several aunts and uncles, Joe Gleason, Joann and Jack Heerman, Gigi and John Cavini, Patricia Schiano , Angelo Schiano and Lisa Esposito, many cousins and extended family members Robert, Rob and Olivia Delmonico.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 3 PM to 8PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM , Thursday, March 24, 2011 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside, CT.
