Age 90, of Greenwich, CT, and Lake Worth, FL, passed away on the Lord’s birthday, December 25, 2012, in Greenwich. It was her final Christmas gift to her beloved husband, Mario J. Agri “Sonny”, who passed away December 23, 2008 and to her dear deceased mother, Nora Embarato, to join them in heaven. Born June 24, 1922, in New York City, Jo and Sonny were married 70 years. She is survived by her four daughters, Camille Agri Gentile and her husband of Simsbury, CT, Noreen Agri of Greenwich, CT, Jill Noel Nagel and her husband of Greenwood, MN, and Monica Agri Bowes and her husband of Atlanta, GA; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In speaking about “Josie”, her family members would often mention her beauty, which was the spark to the flame that began a lifelong marriage to her Sonny. Friends and family remember her subtle humor which provoked unexpected laughter for all, except Josie, who always asked “What’s so funny?”; then, realizing her wit, she also laughed.
Jo was highly talented at knitting and needlepoint, which kept her active until her final days; and, she loved her dogs and cats who stayed by her side. She was her family’s solid rock.
A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on December 29, 2012 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Greenwich, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends 4-7pm Friday, December 28, at Gallagher Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich, CT
