Louise was born in White Plains, NY on July 1, 1940. She was the middle daughter of the late Rupert S. Rogers and Evelyn Nyberg. She went through the White Plains public school system and worked at Kreskies in White Plains, before dedicating her life to her husband and children.
Louise met her husband, John Halpin, and married him at Our Lady of Mercy church in Port Chester, NY. They moved to Greenwich and became active in creating a loving home for her husband and children. In doing so, she was active in the following organizations: Greenwich Hibernians, Greenwich Celtic Society and Sacred Heart Church.
Louise was an incredibly dedicated wife, devoted mother and doting grandmother. Her family was always first and is her finest accomplishment. This was evident toward the end as she was surrounded by the love of her family, which is what she wanted as her final wish, to die in her home, in her bed, with her loved ones around her.
Louise is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Halpin; daughter and son-in-law, Maggie Halpin and David Williams of Norwalk, CT; daughter and son-in-law, Liz Halpin and Declan Carbin of Norwalk, CT; and grandchildren: Riley Williams, Ryan Williams, Reagan Williams, Seamus Carbin and Brianna Carbin. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Touri of Port Chester, NY, Carole Palmer of Whitehall, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loved ones and friends may call to pay their respects on Sunday, January 22 from 2-6 pm at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich CT 06830. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 23 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry Street, Greenwich CT 06830. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Street, Greenwich CT.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the following people for their dedication, kindness and help through Louise’s illness: Dr. Stuart McCalley, Dr. Dickerman Hollister and his staff and the expert care of Hospice under the competent leadership and guidance of Pat Szechtman.
