

Meribah Cloud Crowley, 75, passed away on July 17, 2013 surrounded by loved ones in Greenwich, CT. Mrs. Crowley was born on April 30th, 1938 in San Jose, CA. She is predeceased by her mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Roy N Cloud, and her sister Elizabeth Jean Steele. Her mother, Eugenia Cloud was a member of the Mayflower Society. She is survived by her four beloved daughters, seven grandchildren, and their families: Alison Crowley and Jerry O’Donnell of Los Angeles, CA; Susie and Tom Kelly and sons Sean, Timmy, and Jamie of Ridgefield, CT; Samantha Crowley Anderlind and children Sophie and Oliver of Riverside, CT; Meghan and Randall Dorton and sons Charlie and Henry of San Clemente, CA. She is also survived by her niece Susan McClellan of Redwood City, CA. Her best friend of over forty years Judy Walker, and her loving caregiver and dear friend Ashley Burke of Stamford, CT also survives her.
Meribah Cloud Crowley attended Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College class of 1959 in Bronxville, NY. She lived in New York City in the 1960’s where she was a runway model and a dancer performing in many summer stock productions including “Damn Yankees” with Red Buttons. After becoming a mother, she lived in Henley-on-Thames, England and Mallorca, Spain for six years before moving to Greenwich, CT in 1976. Meribah Cloud was the author of a children’s Christmas book, “Little Ever” and was also co founder of “Star Spangled Bananas," a novelty toy company with her best friend Judy Walker.
She raised her four girls in Greenwich, CT and in her later years loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren who nicknamed her “Gree.” She loved attending Broadway shows and spending time in New York City, and passed that passion and appreciation of the arts on to her entire family. She loved being a mother and grandmother and her family will be forever grateful for her humor, her kindness, and her love.
