Nina Elizabeth Reichborn, born on October 26, 1967, energetically made her way into the hearts of many and left us on June 5, 2026. A true life-of-the-party, Nina’s radiant energy and zest for life were evident from an early age. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1985 and pursued her passion for hospitality, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel-Restaurant Management from Johnson & Wales in Providence, RI. followed by a Master of Science Degree in Managerial Technology also from Johnson & Wales. While making her way through college she enjoyed several semesters abroad in Australia and Switzerland making many new friends along the way and through traveling adventures that created a lifetime of stories.
Nina’s professional journey began as an event planner, where her flair for creating well organized experiences truly shone. She later brought her talents to her family business (Goodway Technologies Corp.) as a key leader of the administrative support team, orchestrating many successful corporate events and enhancing every gathering with her unique touch.
Nina cherished her bicultural identity, proudly embracing her Norwegian roots while wholeheartedly celebrating her life in the United States. Whether it was a festive holiday or a simple gathering, she ensured every occasion was filled with joy, laughter, and a touch of her signature flair. Her travels back to Horten, Norway every summer were filled with love, laughter, and lifelong friendships. Nina loved sharing her enthusiasm for both cultures, playfully boasting about her Norwegian heritage to her American friends, and vice versa.
Her vibrant spirit, generosity, and loving nature will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. Nina is survived by her beloved family: older sister Annette Kane (Tim), younger brother Peter Reichborn (Diane), and cherished nephews Tucker Kane (Whitney), Bo Kane (Aidan), and Wyatt Kane. She also leaves behind a loving extended family, including paternal cousins Trine-Lise Lozier, niece Lily Lozier, nephew George Lozier of New Canaan, CT. Tom Lozier from Virginia Beach, and California cousins Linda Reichborn Mitchell (Don), Kristina Piazza (Alex). In Norway she will be missed by her Tante Britt Klovstad as well as maternal cousins Cecilie Klovstad (Olav), Vibeke Klovstad (J.R.) and her many childhood friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers at Norwalk Hospital for their exceptional support during Nina’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Nina’s love for children and animals with a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (http://stjude.org) or the ASPCA (http://aspca.org). A private burial will take place, with a memorial service to celebrate her life planned for a later date.
