

Palmo was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, to Rocco and Catherine Agostino on March 28, 1931. He graduated from Wright Technical School in Stamford as a carpenter. As a young man, he was interested in the accordion and became an accomplished accordion player who gave lessons to children in the neighborhood. He then went on to obtain his license as a hairdresser. He worked as a hair stylist on Broadway and then opened his own salon called Town & Country in Rye, New York. Palmo was an avid golfer and taught his brothers and nephews how to play the game that he loved. Another hobby that he took part in was horse racing. Palmo owned several race horses and enjoyed watching them race at Yonkers Raceway.
Palmo is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Elizabeth Agostino and Anita Brenia; brothers, Bruno Agostino and Saverino Agostino; his niece Natalie Sproul; his nephew Rocco Agostino; and great-nephew Joshua Agostino.
Palmo is survived by his sister Betty Sproul; nieces Marilyn Gade, Kathleen Rudd, Lisa Hluboky, Lisa Caskey, Melissa Adams, Amanda Weisiger, Lauren Stokely and Shannon Lynn; nephews Brunie Agostino, Nicholas Brenia, Dustin Sproul and Christohper Sproul; great nieces Kirsten Gade, Sophia Gade, Elizabeth Rudd, Jennifer Agostino, Mila Sproul, Adeline Sproul, Sarah Weisiger, Desiree Weisiger and Rory Lynn; great-nephews Michael Agostino, Joseph Agostino, Matthew Agostino, David Agostino, Ryland Brenia, Silas Palmo Brenia, Rocco Sproul, CJ Sproul, Ethan Sproul, Brandt Adams and Rino Lynn.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside, Connecticut. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road, Greenwich, Connecticut. Arrangements are by Leo P. Gallagher & Sons Funeral Home.
