

Born on May 8, 1937, in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph Campion and Margaret (Dowling) Campion.
Paul went on to earn his BA at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut (Class of 1959). He was a member of Alpha Chi Rho and continued his participation after graduation as class secretary for five years.
Paul began his career on Wall Street with Shearson Lehman and subsequently went on to Smith Barney as VP Institutional Sales until retirement. His keen interest in the financial market was part of his daily routine up until his passing. Paul spent over forty-five years in Rye, New York where he and his wife, Susan, raised their three children. Not long after that Cos Cob, Connecticut was home and where he continued to be an active member of the local community. Over the years he served as a volunteer with Community Answers and Greenwich Hospital. An avid and passionate golfer, Paul became golf chair with the RMA (Retired Men’s Association) for two years. He not only loved the game itself, but also enjoyed teaching and sharing his love of golf and all sports with others. Among Paul’s passions was his love of food and cooking along with his curiosity for words and common phrases. He particularly liked challenging his friends as to idioms their origin and meaning. Whether as a “wordsmith”, self-appointed cook or golfer his sense of humor, warmth and love of life left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Susan Campion, his daughters, Jennifer O’Brien of Cos Cob, Connecticut (Kevin C. O’Brien), Allison Campion of Summit, New Jersey, and his son Tucker Campion of Charlotte, North Carolina and further survived by other relatives and friends. He was affectionately known as “Gucci” or “Choo” by his six adored grandchildren. His brother, Donald Campion, predeceased him.
Paul will be remembered for his wit, his unwavering love for his family and the countless friendships he nurtured throughout his long and full life.
