He was born in Port Chester NY, but raised in Armstrong Court, by his mother, Louise Mills, and father, Shellie Mills, Sr.
He is best remembered by his peers for his athleticism and dedication to Greenwich High School sports, primarily as one of the the best running backs for The Greenwich Cardinals football team. He later passed on his love and knowledge of football as a volunteer coach for the BANC Raiders.
He was a proud Army veteran, stationed in Germany in the early 70’s.
He is survived by his son, Adrian Mills, step-daughter Tracy Ferreira and her husband Tony Ferreira and their 3 daughters, his brother Kenny Mills and his wife Marva Mills, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail Mills, and his siblings, Joan Mills, Malcolm Mills, Gary Mills, Benjamin Mills, Shellie Mills Jr. and Ann Mills Parsons.
He was loved, and will be missed.
A public wake will be held on Monday, March 25th, between 5-8pm, at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch Street, Greenwich CT 06830. A private burial will take place at The Middle Patent Rural Cemetery Association in Armonk, NY 10506.
