

Robert Arthur Benoit died suddenly on January 1, 2010 at Greenwich Hospital. He was born in Greenwich on April 4, 1953 and was a life-long resident of Cos Cob, graduating from Greenwich High School class of 1971. His parents, Arthur N. Benoit and Marion Conlon Benoit predeceased him. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Jennifer Clausi Benoit, his daughters, Alison Claire and Jenna Kathleen of Cos Cob and his sons, Robert Gage of Cos Cob and Arthur James of Georgia. His brothers Timothy and his wife Virginia of Newtown, Stephen and his wife Faith of Rye, NY and his ten nieces and nephews survive him: Kevin, Ted, Erica, John and Stephen Benoit, Hannah, Halla, Emily, and Allison Clausi and Kathleen Garvie. During his thirty year career at Sikorsky Aircraft, Bob filled roles of increasing responsibility culminating in his position of Quality Assurance Specialist working both domestically and abroad. He was interested in motorcycles, most recently rebuilding an antique Triumph bike and a small classic scooter. He loved cooking and his culinary skills were appreciated by friends and family. He accentuated these gatherings with his infectious good nature. Bob was able to see the humor in the world around him and in himself. He reflected this delight back to those who know him. Bob respected learning and was self taught and knowledgeable in many areas of personal interest. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday January 5th at 4:00 PM in The First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT. Interment will be private. Friends may call Monday January 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 31 Arch Street Greenwich, CT.
