Mr Robert J Fitzgerald

Robert J. Fitzgerald of Greenwich, CT passed away on March 9, 2012 at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home after a long and courageous battle with Dementia. At his side was his beloved Eileen Burke. He was 68. Born in the Bronx, New York on May 14, 1943 he was the son of late Robert and Rita Melody Fitzgerald.

He was a proud graduate of St. Helena's grammar school and High School as well as Fordham University and the Polytechnic Institute of New York University. His career was spent in information technology where he was involved in solving critical data transmission issues among hospitals in the early pre-internet era. His last position was at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

He is survived by his sister, Maureen Doyle of Midland Park, New Jersey and his brother, Patrick Fitzgerald of Cabin John, Maryland, his aunt, Sr. Francis Jerome, OP, of Blauvelt, New York and his nephews William Fitzgerald and Aidan Fitzgerald of Seattle, Washington.

Calling hours will be held at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 31 Arch Street, Greenwich CT on Tuesday March 13, 2012 from 4-8 PM .

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Catherine of Siena 4 Riverside Ave, Greenwich CT on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 10 A.M.

Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
