In memory of Robert Schipani, a true Renaissance man. Bob loved to travel, listen to live music, enjoy fine foods and to share his learnings with others. His insatiable curiosity, mastery of multiple disciplines, and unwavering pursuit of knowledge and greatness led him to teach himself how to play guitar, the piano and the harmonica. He seamlessly navigated the arts, sciences, literature, and philosophy and had a passion for sharing his learnings with others. His keen intellect, talent and boundless creativity illuminated every person he encountered, whether it be his love for music, art, history, politics, men's fashion, food, baseball, football or movies. A consummate conversationalist, Robert's intellectual prowess knew no bounds. His voracious appetite for learning led him to explore the depths of people. Since his move from NJ to CT in 2017, he made dozens of close friends at The Mews, his new residence and senior community that he loved so much from the amazing staff, his fellow residents to his best friend and companion, Mimi.
Robert’s bravery, optimism, strength, sense of humor and smile will resonate with us for generations to come. Beyond his intellectual pursuits, Robert possessed a rare depth of humanity and compassion. He approached life with a sense of wonder and humility, embracing diversity and championing the causes of justice and equality. His empathy knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him with his kindness, gentility, and generosity. As we bid farewell to this Renaissance man, let us honor his legacy by continuing to cultivate our own passions, pursue knowledge with fervor, and strive to make the world a more enlightened and compassionate place. Though he may have left us, Bob’s spirit will endure as a beacon of inspiration for all who dare to dream and strive for greatness. Robert is survived by his brother, Frank, sister-in-law’s Karen and Arlene, niece Mia and nephews Joseph and Steven. Bob is predeceased by his loving wife Vivian, his older brother Joseph and parents Ann and Joseph Schipani. In lieu of flowers, the Schipani Family requests a donation be made in honor of Robert Schipani to: Merry Go Round Inc. (DBA The Mews) ½ Bolling Place, Greenwich , CT 06830 – The donations will continue to support the art and music programs for seniors that Bob loved.
